Jabalbina represents the Eastern Kuku Yalanji (EKY) People, whose Country extends from Port Douglas to near Cooktown in Far North Queensland, including the entire Daintree region.
Jabalbina is the EKY People’s Registered Native Title Body Corporate, primary land trust and registered Cultural Heritage Body.
Jabalbina manages the EKY Indigenous Protected Area, EKY Rangers and other programs for the benefit of EKY People and Country.
This project meets EKY aspirations to care for and restore Country while generating income and building the capacity of First Nations people for land restoration work.
Jabalbina is replanting a section of the Daintree River’s riparian corridor to generate Cassowary Credits using the Rainforest Replanting Methodology.
